The Business Innovation Facility (BIF) in collaboration with The Convention on Business Integrity (CBi) organized an Executive Roundtable on Inclusive Business Models on Thursday, November 24th2011 at the Protea Hotel Oakwood, Ikoyi - Lagos - Nigeria.
In attendance were C-Level Executives of organizations such as Nestle Foods Plc, Olam Limited, Coca –Cola, Oando Marketing, AACE Foods Limited, Best Foods Nigeria Limited, Accenture, and the Honorable Minister of ICT, Mrs. Mobola Johnson who was duly represented by Mr. Bunmi Okunowo, amongst other participants.
The Roundtable was aimed at facilitating the strategy as well as the process of developing Inclusive Business that would support individual firms as they create innovative, inclusive business models that lead to their doing profitable business in ways that engage the poor and disenfranchised in roles such as suppliers or distributors across the value chain, or as customers through the development of affordable products and services that meet the needs of the poor.
Sequel to Welcome and Introductions of The Business Innovation Facility by Tom Harrison,followed by BOP Strategies and Inclusive supply chains: CSR or Core Business? delivered by Jack Newnham, the roundtable also delivered lots of information on BIF Strategy for Nigeria as delivered by Soji Apampa; some examples of BOP Strategies in Nigeria showcasing the BIF interventions with Oando Marketing Plc delivered by Adeyemi Oreagba, AACE Foods Limited delivered by Mrs. Ndidi Nwuneli and Furniture Village Limiteddelivered by Tayo Oduwole of Frontier Capital on behalf of Mrs IbukunOluwa Awosika.
Information on Developing BOP strategies on Inclusive Business Models delivered by Simon Martin of Accenture Development Partners, Developing Inclusive Markets in the Agricultural Sectorby Prof. Ayoola of Farms & Infrastructure Foundation and Investing in inclusive Business delivered by Andre Weigner of Alithea Capital was also delivered to participants at the roundtable.
The roundtable also offered an opportunity for entrepreneurs and business people to share their own inclusive business ideas to which we have received a tremendous amount of positive feedback.
The participants had no reservations in revealing that they really enjoyed hearing the different models of the BIF Interventions to Oando, Aace Foods and FVL.
