Coming from Africa, I experience producers being trapped into low-skill, low-value products and services and perpetually struggling to obtain a significant value-added share in global trade. So I’ve consistently been exploring market based solutions to find ways to move business practices from where the link between poor producers and ultimate consumers is weak, or nonexistent, into brand-based markets. With this work I have pushed branding boundaries and innovated brand-led models of change, that can deliver transformative economic, environmental and social solutions for the Poor.
