Carolin's professional experience

I am working as an independent consultant on the business-development nexus based in London.

Recent projects include my role as Learning and Monitoring Officer for the Business Innovation Facility, a DFID funded initiative to support the development of inclusive business models, as well as the 2010 and 2011 meetings series on ‘Harnessing the Power of Business for Development Impact’, working with Business Action for Africa and the Overseas Development Institute.

Prior to continuing my career in the UK, I have worked for 2 years with the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ), an international cooperation enterprise for sustainable development, in Germany and Peru.

I hold a graduate degree in business and a post-graduate degree in Development Management from the London School of Economics.

From start up to scale up in two years

It was a ginger-grinding shift not a chilli pepper shift during my second visit to the AACE Foods factory in Lagos earlier this month – yet this didn’t make a difference to my constant sneezing and coughing. Other than that an awful lot has changed since my first visit in March 2011 and coming back to meet the company again in July 2012.…
