Comment by Bernard Kelontii on March 5, 2013 at 7:51 Hi Most valuable people out there.
I just joined the HUB and realize it was not a mistake. I come from a very resource blessed country of Papua New Guinea and maybe one of the few to join, but I realize there is huge potential in Agribusiness which I need to share with international community who can assist or be part of the program to develop Agri-industry.
My interest is into developing vegetable farming at rural level, mareting after semi-processing. For instance the English Potato, and Freshwater Fish Farming (particular interest in GIFT Tilapia). Setting for farming involves rural people and what is needed is a market which also is available. What is needed is bridging the gap between farmers and market.
I am looking for a partner to invest in bridging. If there is any individual or organization or group who has the heart to alleviate poverty in rural areas of Papua New Guinea, I am inviting you to talk with me. My email address is b.kelontii@gmail.com
I believe in what many of you commented that Agriculture stands the backbone of any economy.

Thanks Turner, cant open the file, it shows corrupted :(
We have targeted maize, potato and ginger primarily.
Hi Shadid,
Have a look at this Spotlight, it gives a good overview of linking smallholders to markets from the Malawi perspective. Are you interested in any crops in particular?
Thanks, Georgina
Dear Members,
Since we are working to develop an online platform for establishing market linkage between farmers and buyers, appreciate if anyone pl share your experiences, if have any. Also we are trying to frame a business model and identify the roles of NGOs in this process.
Remain to hear from you all :)
Regards,
Shahid

Interesting article on inclusive agri-businesss
“The agribusiness sector can and should be a major driver of economic development and job creation on the continent. The lack of commercial projects and commercial agribusiness value chains and the associated inclusive models for development of this sector remains one of the biggest constraints in this regard.”
