This
report (pdf, 20 pp.), 'Accelerating progress towards he MDGs through inclusive business - Delivering results: Moving towards scale', based on a high level Dialogue in September 2010 in New York, does two things.
First, it shows that businesses are not just talking about inclusive business but ‘walking the talk’. Examples from companies worldwide showed how they have developed new business models, done the pilots, been through learning and adaptation and are now scaling up.
Secondly, the report captures eight current
focus areas that are key to making progress in the current agenda. These are the issues on which participants were reporting progress or sharing their challenges, and their examples and quotes bring the issues alive.
They include: experimentation; listening to low income consumers; new forms of collaboration, balancing short term returns and long term value creation.
The 20 pages are far from dense, highlighted with quotes, and a useful overview for inclusive business practitioners of the issues raised by those who are immersed in this world of innovation and adaptation.
